Lamin Deen a British bobsleigh pilot retires after IBSF World Cup

Bath (RWH) (RWH) Lamin Deen made the decision to step away from his roles as a bobsleigh push athlete and pilot for the British squad after 15 years of competition. The 41-year-old athlete announced his retirement via Twitter, writing, “After an amazing and action packed 15 years in the wildest sport ever to be created, it’s time for me to say goodbye.
” The announcement came after the athlete competed in nearly 250 races for Great Britain, including exactly 100 World Cup starts, between November 2006 and January 2022. During that time, the World Cup was held exactly 100 times.
After being pushed by Toby Olubi, Ben Simons, and Andrew Matthews, he won the gold medal at the 2017 Whistler World Cup. This victory etched his name into the annals of sports history.
Lamin Deen participated in the Olympic Winter Games in both 2014 and 2018
He placed 19th in the 2-man competition and 23rd in the 4-man competition in Sochi. In PyeongChang, he finished 18th in the 4-man competition.
