Olympic Champion Friedrich wins 4-man bobsleigh World Cup

Hunter Church came in third place, while Brad Hall finished in second place at the Winterberg BMW IBSF World Cup
Francesco Friedrich (GER), bobsled pilot for the Winterberg (RWH) Bobsleigh team, has ensured victory in the overall 4-man bobsleigh competition in the 2021/2022 BMW IBSF World Cup. The Olympic and World Champion celebrated his seventh victory of the season at the seventh of the eight races of the season in Winterberg (GER). He now has an unassailable lead of 229 points going into the final race of the season. A World Cup victory is worth 225 points out of a possible 300.
This means that Friedrich has now racked up a total of 100 podium places in his races in the World Cup for 2-man and 4-man bobsleigh in the ten years starting January 2012, with 65 of those results being triumphs. In 2013, in the city of Innsbruck, there was one more, which was the first place finish in a Team World Cup, which was still on the schedule at the time.
Friedrich’s pusher team consisted of Thorsten Margis, Candy Bauer, and Alexander Schueller
They finished 0.42 seconds ahead of the British team, which was comprised of Brad Hall, Taylor Lawrence, Nick Gleeson, and Greg Cackett. The competition was place in Winterberg. It marked the third time that the British had finished on the podium at an Olympic winter competition.
The United States pilot Hunter Church celebrated his second podium result in the 4-man bobsleigh World Cup with Joshua Williamson, Kristopher Horn, and Charles Volker. Church finished 0.46 seconds behind the winner, Brad Hall. In the year 2020, Church finished in third place in Innsbruck.

Maxim Andrianov (RUS) had his best performance of the season at Winterberg, finishing in sixth place with Aleksei Pushkarev, Vasiliy Kondratenko, and Dimitrii Lopin. They celebrated their accomplishment.
Lamin Deen (GBR) came in 17th place at Winterberg, and his squad included Olympic long jump champion Greg Rutherford for the first time. Sam Blanchet and Luke Dawes were also on the team.
Francesco Friedrich (GER), who finished with 1575 points in the BMW IBSF World Cup 2021/2022, will receive the fourth 4-man bobsleigh crystal globe trophy for the overall World Cup triumph at the end of the season in St. Moritz (SUI) on January 16th. Justin Kripps (CAN, 1346) is now in second place overall going into the final round. Kripps and his teammates Cam Stones, Ryan Sommer, and Ben Coakwell finished sixth in Winterberg. Although he finished seventh in Winterberg, Rostislav Gaitiukevich (RUS, 1280) is currently in third place overall.
